Overview
In 2017, Turkmenistan’s regulatory authorities restricted monetary transactions involving international payment systems cards. This led to the some unreliable and negative press reports in relation to a client of "Tayniy Sovetnik" in Central Asia. The negative press posed potential reputational risks to the international company.
Actions taken
The agency team functioned as the Press Office for the international Visa company and responded promptly to the unfolding crisis. Within a short timeframe, the team monitored and analyzed content in publications. "Tayniy Sovetnik" developed recommendations and an action plan using this data to proactively mitigate the reputational risks the company faced.
Three company statements were developed and disseminated to the media in Central Asia, Russia, and Ukraine. Following talks with key publications in Turkmenistan, these outlets published the client’s official on the matter and conducted interviews with representatives from the international company. Project coverage: 60% of the client's key audience.
